Dr. Diana Canto-Sims founded Buena Vista Optical, a fully bilingual, multi-cultural private Optometric practice and eyewear boutique in the heart of Chicago.
She is the founder of La Vida Eyewear, an award-winning Independent frame collection created to embrace Diversity, Inclusion, and belonging by creating frame styles that fit her patient base, predominantly Hispanic, Latino, LatinX, and people of color.
Dr. Canto is on the Diversity and Inclusion task force for the Vision Council and the Transitions Diversity advisory board.
In recognition of her ongoing contributions to the eyecare industry, Dr. Canto was named one of Vision Monday’s Most Influential Woman in Optical in 2017; she is a 2018 Eyecare Business game-changer, graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program, and a graduate of Stanford Graduate Business School scaling program for Latino businesses in the US creating a multiple million-dollar optometric practice.
